CalOptima

Following the success of its street medicine initiative in Garden Grove, CalOptima Health plans to extend its "Doctors Office on Wheels" program to homeless communities in Anaheim and Costa Mesa. This program provides primary healthcare, behavioral health services, and case management support to individuals experiencing homelessness in various outdoor settings. Launched in Garden Grove in April, the program initially aimed to enroll 200 patients within 18 months through a partnership with Healthcare in Action, a SCAN Group organization offering healthcare assistance to the homeless. Within just ten months, the team has already reached 138 individuals receiving services, demonstrating the program's effectiveness and impact. Read More Here!

San Clemente Pedestrian Beach Trail

Metrolink, in coordination with the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), is constructing a temporary catchment wall adjacent to the San Clemente Pedestrian Beach Trail bridge to prevent landslide debris from obstructing the rail line.

Two large rigs began drilling this past Thursday to subsequently place steel beams that will serve as the foundation for the catchment wall. This effort will be similar to the wall constructed last year below the nearby Casa Romantica Cultural Center and Gardens.

The wall currently under construction at Mariposa Point is expected to stand between 10 and 15 feet above ground, approximately 200 feet in length, and be supported by steel beams that will be placed 30 feet below ground. Read More Here!
