As Orange County’s Regional Energy Pathways Program Ambassador for SoCalGas, ACC-OC participated in the SoCalGas 2025 Energy Efficiency Program Kickoff Meeting. A key takeaway from the event was the opportunity to collaborate with other regional ambassadors on best practices for effectively engaging cities, schools, and residents in energy efficiency initiatives.

ACC-OC is dedicated to connecting Orange County cities and public agencies with the resources and support offered by SoCalGas, enabling them to reduce operational costs, optimize savings, and decrease energy consumption. The City of Santa Ana is proud to celebrate its military heroes through the Hometown Heroes military banner program. Family members and loved ones can nominate active-duty service members from any branch of the military to be recognized with a personalized street banner featuring their name and photo. These banners will be prominently displayed along MacArthur Boulevard or Civic Center Drive.

SoCalGas is offering a series of no-cost training sessions in February and March 2025 to help enhance energy efficiency in residential, commercial, and industrial facilities.

February Trainings:

  • IHACI - Electrical Module (Parts 1-4): Virtual sessions on February 3, 4, 10, and 11 (6:00 PM – 8:00 PM).

  • LA Steam Operator’s License Exam Prep (3-day series): In-person training in Downey, CA, on February 11 (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM), February 12 (9:00 AM – 4:00 PM), and February 13 (9:00 AM – 1:00 PM).

  • Steam Turbines Session: February 13 (1:00 PM – 4:00 PM) in Downey, CA.

March Trainings:

City of Yorba Linda


With the rising popularity of e-bikes, the City of Yorba Linda and Yorba Linda Police Services are committed to ensuring community safety. Join them for a community-wide e-bike safety presentation at the Yorba Linda Community Center on February 6 from 6 to 8 p.m.

While e-bikes provide a fun and efficient way to travel, understanding proper safety practices is crucial to preventing accidents, protecting pedestrians, and complying with local laws. This event will help riders enhance their road awareness and promote a safer environment for all.

 

Sustain SoCal


Sustain SoCal is organizing the 'Sustainable Communities' event on February 20, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at The Cove at UCI Beall Applied Innovation, located at 5270 California Avenue, Irvine, CA. This event will address challenges in housing security, wildfire risks, and affordability in Southern California. Discussions will focus on innovative solutions in climate resiliency, fireproofing, and local self-sufficiency.


 


City of Stanton

 

The City of Stanton is now accepting nominations for the 2025 Women of Distinction Awards to recognize outstanding women making a difference in the community. Nominations must be submitted by 6 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2025.

Honorees will be recognized at the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at 6:30 p.m.
