Representatives Lou Correa (CA-46) and Young Kim (CA-40) led a letter with bipartisan group of their colleagues to Senator Laphonza Butler (D-CA) to support the inclusion of CalOptima Health’s proposed Safety Net Behavioral Health Workforce Development Program and request its consideration by the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Labor, Health, and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies in Fiscal Year 2025 federal funding legislation.

CHOC's Wellness on Wheels is a mobile asthma clinic dedicated to serving preschool and school-aged children in Orange County. The mobile clinics travel to local schools and community centers, and services are also provided inside some CHOC clinics. The services provided include a comprehensive asthma evaluation, lung function testing, allergy testing, and asthma education.

CalOptima Naloxone Distribution
To combat the growing fentanyl epidemic, CalOptima Health recently distributed more than 16,000 free doses of naloxone during an event in Orange where representatives from doctor offices, hospitals and community organizations attended. The participants picked up the medication in cases and committed to speeding the life-saving medication into the hands of CalOptima Health members as a tool to prevent accidental opioid overdoses.
